Pre-cut timber packages

Timber Pergola Kits

Pergola kits for capable owners and contractors who want prepared timber components with a more custom result than a commodity box kit.

Designed around the site

A prepared frame, not a finished backyard

A useful kit can simplify timber selection, cutting, joinery, and hardware coordination. It does not eliminate layout, utilities, footings, concrete, delivery access, unloading, lifting, safe assembly, finish touch-up, permits, inspections, or the work around the structure. Start with the site and complete scope before comparing package prices.

Project possibilities

Options worth discussing

Every item is confirmed against the site, scope, materials, and current availability before it becomes part of a quote.

  • Freestanding pergola kits
  • Attached pergola packages where appropriate
  • Open-lattice configurations
  • Custom dimensions and timber details
  • Hardware and finish coordination
  • Installation and site-work discussion
01

Get an exact inclusion list

The quote should identify species, structural grade, dimensions, posts, beams, rafters, braces, cuts, drilling, hardware, anchors, finish status, plans, engineering where included, shade or roof components, packaging, freight, delivery conditions, and replacement-part process. “Pre-cut kit” is not specific enough to compare two proposals.

02

Confirm foundation and attachment details

Existing concrete and decks are not automatically suitable for pergola posts. Footing and anchor details depend on structure, loads, soil, uplift, post spacing, and jurisdiction. Attached kits also require a verified building connection and water-management detail.

03

Plan delivery, unloading, and lifting

Large timber packages can require equipment, staging space, weather protection, and a crew that can brace the frame safely. Confirm truck access, curbside versus jobsite delivery, who unloads, package weights, storage, and what happens if the site is not ready.

04

DIY versus professional installation

Pre-cut components reduce some field work but do not make heavy timber, foundations, work at height, or structural connections beginner tasks. A capable owner-builder needs project-specific documents, tools, lifting and bracing plans, and people with relevant construction experience.

05

Close out with records

Keep approved plans, the component list, finish and hardware specifications, photos of concealed foundations and connections, inspection records, and maintenance instructions. Those records make future refinishing, repairs, and replacement parts far easier.

Questions before you build

Pergola Kits FAQ

These are starting points. Site conditions and project documents control the final answer.

Are pergola kits ready to assemble?

The exact preparation varies by project. Your quote should clearly state what is cut, finished, included, delivered, and still required on site.

Do I need construction experience?

Timber structures involve layout, foundations, lifting, fastening, and safe work at height. A capable crew and appropriate equipment may be necessary even when components are pre-cut.

Do kits include footings or concrete work?

Site work varies. We define the scope in the quote so responsibility for footings, concrete, delivery, equipment, and assembly is clear.

Start with the site, the shade, and the way you want to use it.

Let’s plan a structure that earns its place in your yard.
